2013-2014 Labels for Education

Preschool families and staff, Thank You for supporting our Labels for Education program last school year! We were able to collect a total of 6,000 points in Labels for Education towards our school. Your hard efforts in collecting and submitting UPC labels and bottle caps (*see participating product list) allowed us to purchase new playground equipment for our school playground for our students to enjoy!  Let's continue collecting this year and thank you for your continued support ~

Dental Hygiene

February is National Children’s Dental Health Month

Today, we will have a dentist visit with our preschool classrooms to go over dental health.

Good oral health offers a child many advantages. Having healthy teeth and mouth support a child’s overall health, because dental problems can affect the rest of the body.

 The American Dental Association(ADA) recommends that a child’s first visit to the dentist take place by his/her first birthday.

 Establishing good dental care habits early in life can put your child on the road to a lifetime of good oral health.

 Supervise/assist your child daily with their oral care until at least the age of 7-8.

 Provide healthy snacks limit the number of sugary/starchy snacks.

 Use a soft bristled tooth brush and replace every 3 month, sooner if it becomes frayed.

 Assist your child to floss their teeth at least once a day.

 Take your child to the dentist every 6 months.

Talk with your school nurse if you need referrals/resources to find a dentist for your child.

Judy Johnson, our school nurse at 303-363-0484 ext. 21523.
